Jon Mark Mallard of Croton on Hudson, NY passed away on August 7, 2017 at the age of 57. He was born to George and Lue (Massey) Mallard on June 2, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jon lived a very interesting and exciting life fueled by his love of travel. While his family was working in Saudi Arabia, he attended boarding school at Judson in Arizona. From there, he began working in construction and fell in love with welding in Saudi Arabia. After Saudi Arabia, Jon and his dad worked in South Africa and Jon then went on to work in Alaska on the pipeline. Jon returned to the States and began life as a traveling welder, based out of Local 100 in Dallas, TX. He spent a bulk of time with his brother and family in Nashville, TN as well as his sister and her family in NY. Jon worked hard and played hard. He lived life his way. His travels took him as far as Russia (even if by mistake) as well as Thailand, The Middle East and throughout the United States. The common thread of Jon's journey was friendship and laughter. Wherever he went, he made friends and he laughed. Then he would make friends and laugh sharing stories of friendship and laughter throughout his travel. He never forgot a name or a face and made everyone he came in contact with feel welcome. He was a kind man with a heart of gold who will be fondly remembered by many, the world over.

Jon is survived by his beloved mother Lue Mallard, caring sister Melisa "Lisa" Basso-Hope (Richard Hope), adored nieces and nephews Jeremy & Aaron, Cami & Joe, Rory & Amy, Ashley, and Courtney & Brandon, cherished great nieces and nephews Caiden, Ella, Griffin, Avery, Tyce, and Lennon, dear sister in law Debbie Mallard, and by his loyal best friend and family Danny Mantle, wife Kay and children Will and Chloe. He is also survived by his Uncle Ed & Marilyn Massey, Uncle Bill & Shevaun Massey, and Aunt Patti & John Disharoon as well as by many cousins and friends. Jon was predeceased by his father George L.
